So yesterday I heard of two kids, of the ages 11 & 12 who just BARELY this year found out that Santa Claus isn't real! Is that weird? 'Cause it sure weirded me out!
Did they REALLY think that reindeer could fly or that Santa REALLY went down chimneys and left gifts. I just don't get it! I don't remember ever believing in Santa, I'm sure I did when i was like 5, but 12! Seriously! Does anybody else think it's weird or do I sound mean!?
I think that maybe a good cut-off age is like 8? For the child's sake?

Are you serious . . . there isn't a Santa Claus? There goes my Christmas, thanks a lot Taryn . . and all this time I thought of you as my favorite niece . . . Whatever you do, don't share this vicious rumor your poor little Bentley!
By the way, I checked the paper . . nothing about him disappearing, what can I say?
I AGREE!!! My niece is 8 and this will be her last year for Santa to come!
I say let the kids enjoy the magic for as long as they can. In this crappy world their being raised in, letting them experience some fun and magic once a year is good for them. Keep the older ones going too for the sake of the little ones. The second an older knows they'll ruin it for the younger then the younger gets ripped off....this coming from an older that ran to the youngers the second I knew. :+D I thrive on the excitement the boys have for the big guy's visit.
This is Mariah...
Taryn you better be careful you might get a lump of coal this year. :)
There is magic in believing.
To each his own.
They will eventually learn that Santa isn't real. But that's OK. I say let them enjoy it. The world makes kids grow up so fast. I think you just have to see when the child is ready.
That doesn't mean letting Santa OVERSHADOW the true meaning of Christmas. After all it is Christ's birthday.
