2 years and still oh so happy!

Yesterday was mine and Brodee's 2 year anniversary...! So I thought it would be fun to tell you all about our 2 plus years together in a nutshell!

I first heard about Brodee Summers when my friend texted me from where she worked (which was Texaco) to tell me about the cute boy who had just returned from a mission and now was working at Texaco. I texted back "is he tall." she texted back "yeah, he's pretty tall." Man, I had to meet this CUTE, TALL, RM boy!

That didn't happen until a few weeks later, a bunch of people got together to play basketball at the EAC courts and him and his new girlfriend just happened to be there. We were introduced to each other but whatever, he had a GF.

The semester was coming to an end and my friend that worked at Texaco was going back home and asked me if I wanted to take over her job at Texaco. I worked at DQ at the time but I thought eh, what the heck I can work two jobs. I had been working at DQ for about 3 years and was a little tired of it anyway so I thought splitting jobs would make life a little more interesting.

So I started there at the beginning of May. Brodee still had his little GF so I didn't even try to flirt with him or really even talk to him. I thought he was so dang cute though! I would watch the way he treated the customers and he was so nice and he wasn't all dumb and annoying and obnoxious about anything, which was a BIG plus.

FINALLY he broke up with his GF and that made it a little easier for me to talk to him, but I still didn't flirt with him, which was weird because it was something I did for fun :) Well whatever I was doing finally paid off because on May 31, 2007 we both had to close so we were the only ones there and it was dead so he was in the little snack shop and we were kinda talking and he asked me what I was doing that night and I told him that I didn't know yet and he said that he was going to go home and go swimming and then watch a movie. He then invited me to go with him and I told him that I didn't want to go swimming but I would watch a movie afterwards but he told me it was all or nothing so I agreed because seriously how do you turn that down!

I was so dang excited! He followed me to my house after work and then we went together out to his. That whole date he was so easy to talk to and I felt like I could totally be myself. We pretty much hung out everyday after that until he finally asked me to be his girlfriend, and then it went on to him telling me he loved me and then a week later me telling him back! It all happened so fast but I knew from seriously the first date that we were going to get married so I wasn't all freaked out or anything.

We always kind of joked around about getting married but we talked about it and thought waiting a few years (what!?!?!?) would probably be best, so when he proposed to me in August I was TOTALLY shocked...Which brings us to a recap of his proposal. One FINE August evening I return home from work to find 3 masked gunman in my freakin trailer! Yes, you read that correctly. I unlocked my front door and as I walk in its dark but I see someone in the hallway and the next thing I know, I am down on the ground in a corner with three guys with guns surrounding me. So the first thing that runs through my head is "this is just dumb people playing a joke on me" two seconds later when I pull my phone out to call for help and one of the guys tries grabbing it from me and it almost breaks it the thing running through my head is OH MY GOSH, this is so not a joke and I'm about to die! So I finally started to kick them away from me and then they all backed off so I stood up and threw my purse down and told them they could have anything they wanted if they would just let me go...I was seriously pleading for my life at this point. And then I look back and Brodee pulls his mask off, and you know what I do! I run and give him a hug! I was SO happy to see him. So then after all his aquaintences apologize for almost scaring me to death Brodee and I leave to his house and the whole time I'm asking him what the heck he was going to do but he wouldnt tell me. So we got to his house and he takes me into his camp trailer and there is a little candlelight dinner set up so we are eating and I say "what if you would have done that and then proposed!" Well after dinner was over we stood up and he dropped his water bottle lid and so he got down on one knee and picked it up and handed to me like it was a ring, so I jokingly put it on my finger. And then I look up at him again and he pulls out a real ring! I totally thought it was a joke so I was like "really?" and he said "Yes Taryn, will you marry me?" And I guess I forgot what he had done to me earlier cause I said Yes back!

5 1/2 months later we were married! We made our home in the trailer I had already been living in. Then 6 months later we found out I was pregnant with our first little baby. I was so scared at first but Brodee was so excited so it made me excited. We then moved out to Eden and lived in Brodee's grandparents guest house so that my parents had a place to live while their house was being built.

Bentley joined our family April 8, 2008. We decided it was the next step in our lives together so we didn't wait and it has been the best thing that's ever happened.

We then decided to move back to the trailer in Thatcher in August which is where we still live and plan on living until Brodee finishes the nursing program in 1 1/2 years.

So that is our life minus a few details! I love my bobolicious so much and he is truly my BFF!

*Oh and for our anniversary yesterday he surprised me with a little trip to Tucson to go to a NICE theater (sorry sapphire) and then dinner at Olive Garden. I absolutely love surprises and he is so good at them!
