You got stung by a bee where!?!?!?!

My brother Jacob came down from NY to visit this week so my other brother and sister who live in Mesa also came down and we had a little family get together. Whenever my family gets together we usually always play a CRAZY game of kickball. So on Friday the weather was nice so I put Bentley in her little car and we went outside to play. She LOVES being outside so she was just chillin in her car playing with her doll and all of a sudden she starts crying so I picked her up and checked her pants to see if something had crawled up there. Nothing. Checked out her shirt. Nothing. I then just happened to look in her mouth while she was crying and noticed a small something on her tongue so I tried scrapping it off with my fingernail but it wouldn't come off, and finally after the 3rd try I got it and everyone looked at it and said it was definitely the stinger of a bee! WHAT!?!?! So of course I freaked out and we ended up having to go the the E.R. because walk-ins at the doctors office had already ended. I'm pretty sure that everyone in the E.R. that I had to talk to thought I was crazy, that was until they checked out her tongue and saw how fat and swollen it was on her right side. She wasn't allergic thank goodness so they gave her some benadryl and an otter pop to suck on to help with the swelling (she ate the WHOLE thing!) and then sent us on our way. Her tongue still has a little bump on it where she got stung, but I think it feels better for the most part.

Oh and for those who are wondering how it possibly stung her tongue: Everytime Bentley is outside she sticks out her tongue, I guess she likes the way the air feels against it. So I'm guessing her little tongue was poking out there and the bee just landed, stung, and took off. BEATS ME!

At least the little bugger is dead now! Poor Bentley... Good thing she wasn't allergic to it. You better watch out where she puts that tongue!

That is crazy! Sure glad that she's not allergic, it could have been disastrous being located there! How about a newer pic of Bentley? Bet she is changing fast!

Benadryl is a staple with kids and BUGS! I would have freaked! What a crazy thing to happen. Glad she's all better.
